NHS health checks - What will my results be?
You’ll get a cardiovascular disease risk score. This score is an estimate of how likely you are to get heart disease or have a stroke in the next 10 years. You’ll also find out your possible risk of developing kidney disease and diabetes.
You’ll be taken through your results and told what they mean. Some people may be asked to come back another day to get their results.
You’ll be given personalised advice on how to reduce your risk and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Some people with raised blood pressure will have a blood test to check their kidneys.
Some people may need to have another blood test to check for type 2 diabetes. Your health professional will be able to tell you more.
You may be prescribed treatment or medication to help you maintain your health.
