Bowel screening - How do I do the test?
You’ll be sent your bowel cancer screening kit in the post.
It will include:
- a stick to collect your poo sample
- a container to put the stick in
- an envelope for you to send your sample in
- instructions telling you everything you need to do
You’ll need a container to catch your poo in. Don’t let it touch the toilet water.
Use the special stick to collect a sample, by scraping the stick along the poo.
Once you have your sample, put it into the special container and seal it. Make sure you write the date on the container.
The test kit will have a full set of instructions to tell you everything you need to know. You can also watch a video showing you how to use your test kit.
You should get your results by post within about 2 weeks of sending your sample.
